Winner $1000 Grand Prize, sponsored by Vogue Knitting Crochet.
Designed by Laurinda Reddig: Vest created using my own intarsia and cable techniques that produce a completely reversible fabric, the same on both sides. Worked entirely in double crochet, using hand-dyed Madelinetosh DK and a size C hook. Leaves were embroidered later through both sides of the work. The beading make the two sides of the tree different, with tiny red berries on one side and crystal flowers on the other. Designed in memory of my daughter Rowan, the butterfly and dragonfly on the front represent both my daughters.
WOW!! Totally deserved the Grand Prize!! Amazing!!
Thank you. This was my first garment design & I have your mentees to thank for introducing me to garment construction. Took classes with the Shibaguyz at the CLF retreat last fall. 🙂
This is one of the loveliest crochet vests I’ve ever seen. You have great talent for construction and design. I wish you well.
