51 Cool Breeze Tee

51 Cool Breeze Tee

Winner $100 Third Prize, Fashion category, sponsored by Interweave Crochet.
Designed by Jill Hanratty: Woman’s vest in Tunisian crochet with silver beads. Worked in Katia Sevilla ribbon yarn. Light and airy, a very loose-fitting boatneck tee in a variety of stitches is crocheted in Classic Elite Cotton Bam-Boo yarn. Foundation single crochet forms the base for several strips of broomstick lace (worked on both edges). These strips are crocheted together to form the sleeves and yoke of the sweater. Slight sleeve shaping is achieved by changing knitting needle size for the broomstick lace at the underarm. The body is then worked down and in the round. A modern striping effect is achieved by edging the broomstick lace with filet-style double crochet and alternating rows of single crochet shells between rows of broomstick lace. Single crochet shells form the neckline and sleeve edges. Single crochet and picots worked in chain loops at the hemline provide a pretty scalloped edge.

  1. I LOVE this! just taught myself the hairpin lace stitch and this is just beautiful….will there be a pattern available? I just made a tank top as my first hp=lace project but nothing like this and i did not use a pattern…just made it up. again just Beautiful!

  2. This may be a obvious/stupid question but where could I find the pattern for this? It is beautiful :)

    • Not a stupid question, Holly, just one I can’t answer. This design is a CGOA Competition entry, where patterns were not required! You might try searching for the designer’s name and as her.

      Yours,

      Doris
